My Love Affair with Cinnamon Rolls

Whoopeedoo! It's Valentine's Day and the best thing is internshipisover I have finally finally made them Cinnamon Rolls! The thought of these cinnamon rolls got me through the last few weeks of internship. I.. must.. make.. them... Ahem, excuse me. So I raided the storeroom stock on Saturday night to tick off the recipe checklist and Mommy helped me get what I was missing out: milk, yeast, flour, butter, cinnamon on Sunday.

And yes I know how that sounds, instead of being hip and going out on fancy dinners or doing that whole singles-boycott-Valentines exercise, I'm staying at home and eating cinnamon rolls. Now you know that I was totally that fat kid in high school. Still am, actually.

Ignore fat fingers.
First time that I've used yeast in baking. I was a bit worried at first; if you place the yeast too early, you'll kill the little suckers. If you place it too late, they won't die but they won't work their glorious magic with the dough. How fickle.

Throw yeast into big-ass pot with scalded milk, vegetable oil and sugar.

Plonk in four cups of flour.

Stir!
One of the things that I hate most about bread (other than the fact that it makes me have thunder thighs) is the rising time. Stir, wait, watch Fox, oogle Mike's coolness, walk around aimlessly, poke dough with a stick, repeat.

Please ignore very unflattering worktop. It was the table which I used for my Add Maths tuition! :D

Slather melted butter. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon. And, if you were distracted (like me), you'll accidentally sprinkle less ingredients then you're supposed to.
Use a pastry brush to even goodness out. Or, if you're like me, just use hands and mix it all around. Don't wash it off. Swipe it on your face. It's a good facial. No. Seriously.

Tadah! These little ones expand like crazy in the oven!

I wanted to get a picture of the full rolls fresh out of the oven. But, my sister attacked it first. Then I did. And my mom did. Cinnamon rolls ftw!

By the way, I'm totally hooked on the Vampire Diaries! :D YES, MORE VAMPIRES. But, seriously, the Salvatores put Twilight to shame. :) And the lead heroine is not a complete headcase.

PS: Hooray, all my classes for Sem One are finally registered. I have won the waiting game! *cue warrior music*
